Makedonski Telekom - Corporate Social Responsibility - Health and Safety

Health and Safety

One of the most important areas that require involvement from a responsible company is strengthening and enhancing community relations by helping to improve the quality of life through contribution of funds and resources to health service providers and other non-governmental organizations. Companies must contribute to strengthening the capacities of these institutions so as to promote the sustainability of the efforts for health and safety matters.

Makedonski Telekom reflects its commitment to health and safety activities by interaction and active cooperation with health service providers, non-governmental institutions that work on creating awareness, prevention and assistance in dealing with certain illnesses, and organizations working for improved well being of various stakeholders in our community, especially those standing for the rights of marginalized groups.

Raising awareness and providing assistance

In 2009, Makedonski Telekom donated telephone cards for universal use to the “Glog” Association from Bitola. The cards were necessary for the performance of a humanitarian activity: Free assistance for persons with severe chronic diseases. The Company also cooperated with the Gradime Idnina Association for the purpose of the realization of the humanitarian concert under the motto “You can help as well”. The funds collected from the concert were intended for equipping subsidized housings in the Gjorce Petrov settlement, granted to more vulnerable groups of citizens, which include former protégés of the foster homes and foster families.

In addition, for the purpose of supporting the health institutions and improvement both of their capacities and the quality of living of the users of their services, Makedonski Telekom donated sheets, blankets and pillows in the gerontology institute "13 November" from Skopje.

In 2008, our company started its partnership with the Civic Association “WEB Doctors” by creating a webpage, while in 2009, our employees prepared additional functional systems of the current functionalities on the WEB Doctors webpage and a software for administrating/managing contents and customers.
