The 64th General Assembly of ETNO – the European Telecommunications Network Operators' Association starts in Skopje, on 26th October. All major European telecommunications operators are members of this association, as innovators and investors that create the digital backbone of the continent by means of state-of-the-art networks and services. The mission of ETNO is to develop a positive policy and regulatory environment which empowers the provision of services in Europe.

This year, when we are marking the 30th anniversary of the existence of ETNO, the Assembly is being held in Macedonia, hosted by Makedonski Telekom. Nikola Ljushev, the Chief Executive Officer of Makedonski Telekom, stated: “ETNO is the voice of the European operators and it has an exceptional role in the creation of policies that enable world-class services for the citizens and the businesses. It is an honour to be this year’s host of the General Assembly and I expect that all of us together will address the challenges and work on their tackling. A joint position by the European telecommunications operators is crucial for the creation of a positive environment, which is indispensable for the digital progress of Europe”.

Makedonski Telekom has been a part of this association for 25 years. ETNO has existed since 1992 and it comprises 40 members and observers from Europe and beyond. It brings together the main investors in innovative and high-quality e-communication platforms and services, accounting for 70% of the total investments in this sector.
