Makedonski Telekom remains the leader in most market segments, according to the results of the company's operation in the first three months of 2022. The sales revenues increased by 3.5% compared to the same period of the last year and amounted to MKD 2.8 million. The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) decreased by 3.4% compared to the same period last year, mainly due to the global economic trends and the significant increase of the price of electricity.
In the first quarter, the company launched the first 5G commercial network and continues to expand the optical network on the territory of Macedonia.

Leadership in the TV market

Makedonski Telekom maintains the lead in the TV services market with a share of 34.3%. The quality and unique experience make MaxTV an extremely attractive offer that contributed to the increase in the number of customers to 146 thousand, i.e. by 1.8% compared to the same period last year.

Growth in the Internet and mobile services

Positive results in the first quarter are also recorded in mobile and internet services. The number of broadband customers increased by 2.7% and amounted to 198.4 thousand, while the internet access increased by 2.4%. Hence, the share of Makedonski Telekom in the broadband market at the end of the first three months of 2022 is 49.3%. In mobile communications, at the end of the first quarter of this year, the company had a market share of 48.5%, and the subscriber base increased by 11.4%. In fixed telephony, we remain in the leading position with a share of 62.1%, i.e. 224 thousand users.

Growth in the ICT segment

In the first three months of 2022, the use of ICT and Cloud solutions and services increased, which led to an increase in the revenues from system integration and IT services by 12.8% compared to the same period last year. The quality of the ICT services and solutions and the data security offered by Makedonski Telekom position the company as a partner for business digitalization, which is evidenced by the positive trend in the ICT segment.
