• Increase compared to last year – 34% of the companies in the country are digitally mature

This year, Makedonski Telekom, in cooperation with IPSOS, conducted a survey on the digital maturity of Macedonian companies. The purpose of the survey is to not only gain insight into the digital readiness of companies in Macedonia and understand the habits and needs for using digital tools, but also to encourage small and medium-sized businesses to digitize quickly and successfully.

In 2022, the survey was again conducted on a representative sample of 500 companies. The main focus was put on companies with fewer than 250 employees as a significant driver of the economy with the largest presence in the Macedonian market.

One of the main conclusions is that 34% of the companies have a high digitization index, which is an increase compared to last year when this figure was 28%.

”All those companies that started using digital tools earlier are already growing and developing. Today we should not discuss whether we need digital transformation, but how and when we are going to implement it. The general conclusion from the research is that the companies in Macedonia, especially small ones with 1-9 employees, have seen the benefits of digital marketing and digital communication, which has led to a statistically significant increase in relevant tools: web communication, digital sales of products/services (e-commerce), sponsored ads and other forms of digital marketing, process control and optimization software, CRM/ERP.

Despite the positive trend of digital transformation of companies, we are still in the early stages of the process and it is expected that more and more small and medium-sized companies will use digital tools in the coming period.
