Generation Z is the first truly digital generation to have grown up in the age of technology and electronic communications, so it is logical to assume that these young people are prepared for modern challenges. However, in the post-pandemic world, they face many cultural, social and economic uncertainties and become increasingly concerned about choosing their future profession.

A survey conducted by Deutsche Telekom with a sample size of 4,000 young people aged 16 to 26 shows that 61% of Generation Z members are anxious about their career prospects and future jobs, with more than 43% saying that they do not have the necessary qualifications to get the job they want.

In today's fast-paced world, it is important for young people to discover their skills and identify their future career path.The interests they acquire from an early age can be a roadmap for building their lives and finding their role in society in the future.

The world nowadays is a global village and success knows no limits; a living proof of this is the neighteen-year-old Orhan Bagasov from Tetovo who used his skills to make a positive change in society. Following his teenage passion, Orhan and his eBionics team created a design for the “Generation Unlimited” youth challenge initiated by the Telekom Foundation for Macedonia and UNICEF, which proved to be a true game-changer: 3D printed bionic arm designed for people with upper limb deficiency.

The young eBionics innovators have been declared the overall winners of the global youth challenge “Generation Without Borders”, defeating 180 teams from 36 countries around the world competing in the New York City event.

"Such prostheses are not new, but they are very expensive, costing more than 6-7,000 dollars. The price for our prosthesis is in the vicinity of 250 dollars and it serves the same purpose as the expensive prostheses. But it is not just about the low price. “Everyone can assemble this bionic hand at home”, Orhan explains.

Orhan found the motivation behind creating this design in the desire to combine engineering with real human needs. The Venus Arm, as the bionic arm is called, is merely one part of a larger project in which this young man tries to make a functional humanoid robot, using his engineering skills. When Orhan first became interested in robotics, he had to learn the basics by watching YouTube videos, and now he is a globally awarded teenager with one impressive project behind him and many more still ahead of him.

Knowing your strengths opens up many new perspectives on choosing the right path in life and that is why it is very important to recognize them as early as possible and learn how to use them in practice. And if you can use the skills for something good, then you will make a positive impact on the whole community.
