Growth of the number of users in all service segments: internet, IPTV and mobile services
Net profit increased by 8.3% in the first six months
9.7% growth of households with fibre optic access

Makedonski Telekom continued to achieve positive operating results in the first six months of 2019 as well. During the first half of the year the Company achieved excellent operating results: the profitability increased, as well as the number of users of broadband internet, of IPTV and mobile services, and the number of households with access to Telekom’s optic network is also growing.

Sales revenues increased by 2.5% and amount to MKD 5,143 million. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) at the end of the first six months of 2019 increased by 3.8% compared to the previous year, whereas the net profit increased by 8.3%.

Increase of the number of users of broadband internet, IPTV and mobile services, expansion of the optical network to a larger number of households

At the end of the first six months of 2019, the number of broadband internet users increased by 3.2% and reached a total of 197 thousand. Makedonski Telekom continuously achieves good results in the IPTV segment as well. The trend of increase in the number of IPTV customers continued (including Magenta 1, Internet & TV and other TV services) resulting in an increase by 8.3%, which at the end of the first six months of 2019 resulted in customer base of 132 thousand customers.

The optical network is continuously expanded as a result of Company’s commitment to make this cutting-edge technology available throughout the country. As a result of the continuous investments in infrastructure, Makedonski Telekom was able to achieve growth in the number of households covered by optics by 9.7% compared to the same period last year. At the end of the first six months of 2019, the investments contributed to as high as one third of the households in Macedonia having an access to the optical network of Makedonski Telekom.

Increased share of mobile subscribers, growth in the revenues from mobile non-voice services

In the first six months of 2019, the number of mobile telephony subscribers of Makedonski Telekom increased by 2.2% compared to the same period last year and amounts to 1.2 million users. The revenues from mobile non-voice services at the end of the first six months of 2019 increased by 12.2% compared to the previous year, as a result of the increased mobile internet revenues and higher GPRS traffic, as well as the increased use of mobile data tariff models by the subscribers.

Furthermore, Makedonski Telekom is committed to developing highly sophisticated technology solutions for smart cities, system integration and cloud services.
