T-Home and T-Mobile, as companies that recognize and support true cultural values, this year as well will be traditional partners of the Ohrid Summer Festival, a festival that has become a distinctive feature of Macedonia and an event that creates moments worth remembering and sharing.

On 12th July 2011, with the grandiose multimedia spectacle “Trilogy Romana” in the production of the famous Spanish company “La Fura dels Baus” and performed by the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra at the Ancient Theatre of Ohrid, the 51st edition of the Ohrid Summer Festival will be officially opened. With the performance of this grandiose work of art, Ohrid will have the honour of becoming a part of the list of cities in which the world premiere of “Trilogy Romana” is being held, after the performance in Rome and Valencia. Thus, the Festival once again confirms that not only it is keeping the pace of the contemporary artistic trends, but it is also enhancing the cultural life in Macedonia with artists of a worldwide reputation.

The highlight of this year’s edition are young yet prominent world musicians who have never performed as a part of the most famous musical performances spectacle in Macedonia. Well-known artists will have their performances at the festival, such as Nigel Kennedy, one of the most popular violinists in the world, the Russian piano elite comprised of Alexei Volodin, Alexander Ghindin and Boris Berezovsky, the attractive “Eight Tenors” from Russia, the concert of Duke Bojadziev and the joint performance of Vlatko Stefanovski and Stefan Milenkovic.

This year’s edition of the Ohrid Summer Festival will also be rich in theatrical content. The Festival’s programme will include the works of outstanding authors that have left their mark in the history of dramaturgy, such as Shakespeare, Beaumarchais, Heiner Müller, Euripides… The following three premiers of the domestic theatres will also be held – “The Marriage of Figaro” by MNT, “Cabaret Misterioso” by the newly established Ohrid Theatre and “Medea” by the Bitola Theatre. For the lovers of visual arts, the Festival will also offer a great number of exhibitions.
