Makedonski Telekom ends the year with growth and successful operations in all segments, show the financial results for 2021. The sales revenues increased by 1.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to MKD 11.216 million. The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 7.2 percent compared to the previous year.

5G network and optical network expansion
For Makedonski Telekom 2021 was a year of investments in the latest technologies and strategic building of the fifth-generation network - 5G and the optical network. At the end of the year, 13 towns were fully ready for 5G. At the same time, the investments in the optical network continue and the number of optical accesses in the country increased by 12 percent compared to the previous year. More than 246 thousand customers have access to optics and the plan is to continue this trend in the coming years.

Leaders on the TV market once again
Makedonski Telekom maintained its leadership in the TV market with a share of 34.5 percent. The unique TV experience and the continuous enrichment of the contents of MaxTV, contributed to the increase of the number of customers to 145.9 thousand or 2.4 percent compared to the previous year.

Internet, mobile and fixed services
Positive results and growth are also recorded in the internet, mobile and fixed services segments. The number of broadband internet users increased by 3.2 percent, whereas the internet access by 3 percent compared to 2020. The total number of customers is 197.3 thousand with a market share of 49.8 percent. In fixed telephony, Telekom maintained its leading position with a share of 62.5% and 224 thousand customers, which is an increase of 1.3 percent in the number of users.

In mobile telephony, the number of customers increased by as much as 10 percent and is now 1.215 thousand, bringing the market share to 48.7 percent.

The successful operating results are a confirmation and incentive to continue investing in the most advanced technology and the best services for the customers.
