In the first nine months of 2021, Makedonski Telekom continued its successful operation in all segments. The sales revenues increased by 5.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to MKD 8,378 million. The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 8,6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Multimillion investments and 5G network deployment

With an investment of 45 million euros in the period 2021-2025, Makedonski Telekom will modernize the radio access network throughout Macedonia, with the latest equipment of the fifth generation. Currently 1/3 of the mobile network is fully ready to provide 5G services.
The investments in the optical network continue and the number of optical accesses in the country is growing. At the end of the first nine months of this year, more than 240 thousand customers had access to optics, which is 12 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year.

Leader on the TV market

Makedonski Telekom confirmed its leading position with a 34.4 percent share on the TV market. In the first nine months, the customer base increased by 3.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and now stands at 145 thousand customers. As a result of the rich contents and the unique experience on the interactive television, the revenue in this segment grew by 3.1 percent.

Growth in internet, mobile and fixed services

Makedonski Telekom recorded growth in the internet segment with an increased number of customers by 4.7 percent and increased access to broadband internet by 4.1 percent compared to the same period in 2020. The number of internet customers is now 195.7 thousand, and the market share is 49.8 percent. The number of customers in fixed increased by 2.5 percent, and by 5.1 percent in mobile. The revenues from mobile services in the first nine months of 2021 also increased by 7.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. In all parameters, Telecom records positive trends in the first nine months of 2021. The successful operating results are a confirmation and incentive to continue with continuous investments in the most advanced technology and the best services for the customers.
