Fastest 4G mobile internet with maximum rate of 220 Mbit/s

Makedonski Telekom has upgraded its 4G network with a new functionality called Carrier Aggregation, which belongs to the new generation of LTE Advanced network. The upgrade has first been made in the central area of Skopje and with this step the users are enabled to receive bigger data transfer rates which go up to a maximum of 220 Mbit/s. The users who own smart phones from the latest generation (category 6) that support the new functionality will have bigger data transfer rates. At the moment, Makedonski Telekom offers seven models of such smart phones in its sales network.

Makedonski Telekom, as a technological leader on the market, is the first to introduce the 4G network in Macedonia. As a result of the continued investments in the infrastructure, at the moment, 45% of the territory of the Republic of Macedonia and 70% of the population are covered with a 4G network. Additionally, Makedonski Telekom invested in a significant expansion of its 3G network in order to provide broadband data services on the entire territory of the Republic of Macedonia. As a result, Makedonski Telekom covers 93% of the territory and 98% of the population with a 3G network, based on which the company is an absolute leader in the provision of mobile broadband data services.

The activities for expansion of the 3G and 4G network will continue, all for the purposes of providing the latest technologies to the citizens, improving their quality of life and providing the best possible customer experience with the best mobile network, as one of the key focuses of Makedonski Telekom. For that purpose, the company, in parallel with the expansion of the 3G and 4G network throughout the country, will also continue with the upgrade of the new functionality, the so called Carrier Aggregation, so that it will provide access to larger data transfer rates to more customers.
