In the first three months of 2021, Makedonski Telekom saw growth and positive results, especially in the Internet and TV segments. Sales revenues increased by 2.6 percent and amounted to MKD 2.686 million. The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 13,1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Strong leadership position on the TV market
Makedonski Telekom maintained the leadership position with a TV market share of 34 percent. In the first three months of 2021, the number of customers increased by 4.3 percent, reaching a customer base of 143.3 thousand. As a result of this trend, digital TV revenues increased by 4.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

The positive trend in the internet segment continues
The trend of growing internet demand increased the number of broadband internet users by 6.4 percent, bringing the market share to 50.2 percent or 193.1 thousand users in the first three months of 2021. The positive trend also affects the total number of broadband internet accesses, which increased by 5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Continuous growth of the optical network
We remain committed to the deployment of the optical network, which is the foundation of the digital society. In the first three months of 2021, Makedonski Telekom provided more than 227 thousand accesses to optics, which is 12.9 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year. In order to meet the demands of the users for fast and stable network, so far we have installed an optical network in the length of 6,900 km on the territory of the entire country. The investments in optical network that provides high speeds and data transmission will continue to be a priority of our team in the future. We remain committed to maintaining the capacity of the network and the fastest and the most secure internet access so as to provide seamless communication and connection to the users.
