Makedonski Telekom and T-Mobile remain on the leading position on the market in 2013 as well. The increasing trend of the internet and IPTV segment continued, whereas the revenues from voice services in the fixed segment decreased.

The revenues at Group level in 2013 amounted to MKD 12,4 billion, which represents a decrease of 9% compared to 2012. The operating expenses decreased by 5.2%, whereas to total capital investments (CAPEX) amounted to MKD 3.2 billion. The net profit amounted to MKD 2.0 billion and decreased by 47.3% compared to the previous year.
However, despite the negative trends, Makedonski Telekom remains a clear leader on the market with a share of 69.0% in the fixed line segment and a market share of 52.5% in the broadband internet segment.

Despite the voice revenue drop in the fixed line segment, which is a trend on European level, the revenues from Internet and digital television via Internet protocol (“IPTV”) increased by 6.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. Makedonski Telekom has the biggest share on the TV market as well amounting to 21% (internal estimate), where as a result of the high quality service, the interactivity and the unique TV experience, the number of IPTV customer at the end of 2013 reached 88 thousand customers, which represents a increase of even 32.6%.

“The big increase of the Internet and IPTV revenues and the leading position on the TV market on which we entered as a challenger on a dominated market, speak about our strong commitment to be innovative and always oriented towards the new trends and flows, but also to invest in them. This is exactly what compensates for the drop in the voice revenues and proves our leading position and the trust which the customers place in us." – said Mr. Andreas Maierhofer, Chief Executive Officer of Makedonski Telekom.

The focus on the double and triple play packages resulted in an increased number of DSL customers by 7.8%, resulting in DSL customer base of 186 thousand at the end of 2013.

At the end of 2013 the number of fixed line customers decreased by 8.5% compared to 2012, resulting in a customer base of 267 thousand.

„The revenues from the traditional services, such a voice and SMS are dropping, which is a worldwide trend affecting all telecommunication companies. The strong competition also contributes to the continuous price decrease and revenue drop. However, despite the negative trends, T-Mobile remains number one on the Macedonian market which indicates that with our strategic commitment to network superiority and innovative services of the next generation we are moving in the right direction." - stated Mr. Zarko Lukovski, Chief Executive Officer of T-Mobile Macedonia.

T-Mobile Macedonia has maintained its leading market position on the mobile telephony market with a market share of 47.5% (internal estimation) and 1.2 million customers despite the strong competition. The mobile voice revenues decreased by 15.5% in 2013 as a result of the decrease of the tariffs. The trend of increased usage of mobile services continues, where the packages include more and more minutes for the same price. That in turn leads to the decrease of the Average Revenue per User (ARPU) by 10.8%. As a result of the increased demand for mobile internet, and the decreased number of sent SMS messages, the revenues from non-voice services mark an increase of 1,5%.
