Makedonski Telekom AD – Skopje has kept the leading position on the market of fixed voice services at the end of the first nine months of 2016, as indicated by the non-audited financial statements pursuant to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

In the course of the first nine months of 2016, the sales revenues amount to MKD 7.828 million, which constitutes a decrease of 0.3% as compared to the same period of the previous year.

The operational expenditures at the end of the first nine months of 2016 mark an increase by 2.8%, as compared to the same period in 2015.

The total capital expenditure (CAPEX), at the end of the first nine months of 2016, amounts to MKD 1.011 million.

As a result of the afore-stated movements in the revenues and the expenditures, the net income amounts to MKD 714 million, which constitutes a decrease of 26% as compared to the same period in 2015.

According to the non-audited financial statements, Makedonski Telekom, at the end of the first nine months of 2016, managed to maintain the leading position on the market of fixed voice services with a share of 60.5% as per the internal data. Even though the revenues from the voice services in fixed telephony have decreased by 12.6% as compared to the same period in 2015, with the number of 219.6 thousand customers, at the end of the first nine months of 2016, Makedonski Telekom is holding a leading position on the market of fixed voice services.

At the end of the first nine months of 2016, the DSL users base is marked with a slight increase by 0.3% as compared to the same period of the previous year and it amounts to 190 thousand users, while the broadband internet market share amounts to 48.2%, as per the internal data.

As a result of the high quality, interactivity and unique TV experience, Makedonski Telekom has achieved good results in terms of digital television, i.e. the IPTV service. During the first nine months of 2016, the number of MaxTV users amounts to 106.7 thousand, which constitutes an increase by 6.3% as compared to the same period of the previous year. Thus, Makedonski Telekom has a 25.7% share in the total TV market, as per the internal estimations.

At the end of the first nine months of 2016, the revenues from retail internet and digital television via internet protocol have increased by 2.2% as compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the mobile segment, Makedonski Telekom has a share of 49.6%, as per the internal estimations. At the end of the first nine months of 2016, the subscriber base comprises 1.281 thousand subscribers and it has increased by 3.7% as compared to the same period of the previous year, when it was 1.235 thousand prescribers.

The revenues from voice mobile services at the end of the first nine months of 2016 decreased by 6% as compared to the same period of the previous year, as a result of the decrease of the tariffs, the reduced revenues from voice roaming and pre-paid, as well as the reduced mobile traffic from international incoming calls. Accordingly, the average revenue per user has decreased by 3.5% as compared to the same period of the previous year.

The revenues from non-voice mobile services have increased by 17.4% as compared to the previous year, as a result of the increased revenues from mobile internet and higher data traffic, as well as the increased use of data tariff models. At the end of the first nine months of 2016, the revenues from system integration and IT increased by 8.9% as compared to the same period of the previous year, as a result of the increased revenues from ICT projects, Cloud Computing services and other integrated solutions for business customers.
