The first Macedonian “e-Bonton” manual was issued which comprises 100 rules for good manners on the internet, a project realized by the “e-Macedonia” Foundation of Makedonski Telekom.

On 27, 28 and 29 June (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), the first quantities of the Manual will be promotionally handed out to the random passersby in front of the bookstores TRI, Tabernakul, Matica and Kultura, whereby the citizens will have the opportunity to see the first Macedonian manual for electronic communication in which all rules are suggestions of the citizens who wanted to respond to the call of the Foundation to join the project.

After the expiry of this promotional period, the citizens will be able to get the “e-Bonton” manual for electronic communications free of charge in all Telekom points of sale in Macedonia, in limited number. However, for all those who will not get the hard copy of this manual, it will be also available in electronic format on the e-Bonton website: www.ebonton.mk, as well as on the website of the “e-Macedonia” Foundation, www.e-makedonija.org.mk, on the website of Makedonski Telekom and on the Idividi portal.

Last year in December, the “e-Macedonia” Foundation started the implementation of the “e-Bonton” project whose aim is creation of rules for good manners in the electronic communication and raising the public awareness on the manner in which people communicate via the social networks. The Foundation created its own website www.ebonton.mk and a Facebook fan page “e-Bonton” that was open for all those who wanted to share their own rule in order to create the manual. Out of many suggestions, 100 most successful were selected and published in the manual. The project was also supported by the NGO Metamorphosis, Young Open Forum and the School of Journalism and Public Relations.

I would like to thank everyone who participated, who sent their own rule and thus pointed out what is good according to them and what needs to be changed in our behaviour in the virtual space.Thanks to their personal experiences, advices and suggestions, the Foundation created the first manual of this type in Macedonia in order to improve the electronic communication and to serve as a useful collection of rules for ethical behaviour and communication on the internet. This way, we hope, we will contribute to the significant improvement of the communication and mutual understanding in the online community”. - said Radmila Joncevska, director of the “e-Macedonia” Foundation.
