• This summer, thousands of free music experiences across Europe

In a world of increasing economic, environmental, educational and societal pressures, young people have a lot to be concerned about.

Deutsche Telekom believes that experiencing the joy of being young is a universal right. This is why Telekom is inviting young people to take part and get connected through thousands of free music experiences across Europe.

The ‘Summer of Joy’ includes exclusive small-crowd gigs, pop-up events hosted by Electronic Beats and a chance to win tickets to some of Europe’s best festivals (e.g. Colours of Ostrava, Electric Castle/Cluj-Napoca, as well as Ohrid Calling and D-Festival in Macedonia and many others).

GRAMMY nominated music producer & DJ and collaborator in this campaign, Jayda G., says: “Music was my lifeline growing up. To protect youth culture, ensuring access to real world music experiences is so important. And to play a part, alongside Deutsche Telekom, in providing an escape from the pressures on the youth of today, is such a joy.”.

The Launch

The ‘Summer of Joy’ launches with a music video style campaign film, directed by the award-winning duo BRTHR, who have worked with artists such as THE WEEKND, PinkPantheress and CHARLI XCX. Featuring Jayda G., the campaign film reimagines the classic story Peter Pan in a new light and for a whole new generation.

Kicking off with an immersive open-air music experience at the open-air venue ‘USUS am Wasser ’ in Vienna, the ‘Summer of Joy’ offers an all-star line up of the most exciting DJ talents from across Europe, including: Jayda G., FIONA, Wolfram and artists from the Vienna based collectives ‘Grüß Dich Bussi Bussi Club’ and ‘Kein Sonntag ohne Techno’.

The Campaign

The ‘Summer of Joy’ is the latest chapter in a multi-year programme of Gen Z focussed campaigns from Deutsche Telekom. The campaign will be digitally focussed, working with Gen Z creators to craft original, authentic assets for social platforms (e.g.TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat).
