• Superior speed, the best coverage and the best network quality

Makedonski Telekom received the prestigious Ookla® award for the best mobile network based on the Speedtest Intelligence® data that refer to the superior speed of the mobile network, the biggest coverage on the territory of Macedonia and the best network quality.

The Speedtest AwardsTM of Ookla® reflect the real network performance and confirm the internet speeds and the coverage. This international acknowledgement is awarded to operators with exceptional performances, based on consumer-initiated tests, confirmed by the Speedtest® applications.

The results establishing the Telekom network as the best in the test refer to the first half of the year 2023*.

An analysis of 50 530 locations throughout Macedonia was conducted in terms of the best coverage. Makedonski Telekom has the best coverage with a Coverage Score of 796, which is the highest score as compared to the competition.

In terms of the network speed, 83 786 tests were performed on 19 580 customer devices in all mobile networks. According to these data, the Telekom network is also the fastest one with a Speed ScoreTM of 116.51.

This is yet another acknowledgement for Makedonski Telekom, which, according to the customers, for years now has been considered as a telecommunications operator that offers the highest-quality services (also affirmed by the researches ‘Perception of the Telecommunications Operators' conducted by IPSOS).

The superiority of the network of Makedonski Telekom is the result of long-term and strategic investment, expansion and modernization. Only last year, more than EUR 70 million were invested in the network development and in the implementation of the latest technologies and other capital investments. This year, we are continuing with a strong investment focus, with additional EUR 15 million capital investments only in the first half of the year. Telekom introduced the 5G network last year and, by the end of this year, 70% of the population will be provided with 5G coverage, while the 4G capacity has increased by staggering 70%. Furthermore, the fiber optic network of Telekom is the largest in the country. Telekom continues fortifying its leading position with an intensive expansion and investments with a view to providing the best connectivity and quality of service to its customers.
