Makedonski Telekom launches an eco-initiative for environmental protection on March 18 - Global Recycling Day. The purpose of this initiative, in which the customers will also participate, is to jointly contribute to the reduction of electronic waste and the restoration of green spaces in the burned regions.

Eco Discount for Recycling

The old electronic devices will be collected in all Telekom shops and will be recycled in partnership with Nula Otpad (Zero Waste). For each old electronic device, customers will receive an eco-discount of MKD 2,000 to buy a new 5G smartphone. The promotion applies for all existing and new postpaid customers by concluding a new or renewing an existing Loyalty 24 contract or with a Family Budget, in a period of 90 days from the day of returning the old device. The eco-discount may also be used by customers who have an active Family Budget contract at the moment of ordering a new device. All phones included in the promotion will be properly marked in the Telekom online shop. The discount will be activated automatically when buying a new 5G mobile phone and can be used only once in a period of 18 months.

Restoration of Green Spaces

Climate change is increasingly leading to environmental disasters that occur in our country as well. Extreme fires in recent years have ravaged much of the green belt and prompted a call for action that needs to be answered with concrete activities. An afforestation initiative will be launched in parallel with the collection of electronic waste. Telekom encourages consumers to return old electronic devices en masse. For the first 1000 returned old devices, 1000 trees will be planted in the burned regions.

In this way, in addition to reducing electronic waste, customers will also actively participate in the forest regeneration. The aim of this initiative is to work together in order to reduce the harmful impacts on nature and create a healthier environment and better future for all.
